TNI Commander Welcomes Patriot II Contingent After Successful Bastille Day Performance In France

SUARA NEGERI | JAKARTA — The roar of aircraft engines signaled the arrival of 451 patriots at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base, Jakarta, as the Patriot Task Force II Contingent returned home after showcasing Indonesia’s excellence during the 2025 Bastille Day parade in Paris. The contingent was formally welcomed by the Commander of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), General Agus Subiyanto, on Friday (July 18, 2025).
In his address, General Agus expressed deep appreciation and pride on behalf of the Indonesian nation for the contingent’s exemplary professionalism and dedication during the French National Day commemoration. He emphasized that the contingent's participation not only honored the invitation from the French Government but also symbolized the enduring strategic defense partnership between Indonesia and France.
"You have carried the good name of Indonesia onto the world stage and proven that TNI personnel can stand shoulder to shoulder with elite forces from across the globe," the TNI Commander stated.
The Patriot Task Force II comprised personnel from the Indonesian Army, Navy, Air Force, cadets of the TNI Academy, and members of the Indonesian National Police. Their disciplined and dignified performance along the Champs-Élysées was witnessed by President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto, French President Emmanuel Macron, as well as dignitaries and citizens from around the world.
This proud moment underscored Indonesia's growing role as a reliable strategic partner in promoting global peace and stability, and as a key proponent of defense diplomacy through multilateral military cooperation.
Upon their return, the contingent was debriefed and personally congratulated by the TNI Commander, and granted time to recuperate following their international duty.
