SUARA NEGERI | JAKARTA — In a situation full of tension and high risk, TNI personnel from the Zeni Company Task Force (Satgas Kizi) of the Garuda Contingent (Konga) XXXVII-K, part of the United Nations peacekeeping mission MINUSCA, once again demonstrated their bravery.
They quickly responded to intelligence reports about the alleged presence of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) at three suspicious locations along the Bouzum-Bocaranga road, Bouzum, Central African Republic, on Friday (25/7/2025).
With full preparedness, a joint patrol and Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team from TNI was immediately deployed to the location. This swift action was taken to ensure the safety of civilians and UN mission personnel who traverse the vital route daily.
In this high-risk operation, Satgas Kizi TNI collaborated with the Cameroon Battalion (CMRBATT), employing a humanitarian approach by gathering information directly from local residents and community leaders. As a result, one suspicious location was identified near the village of Manga, marked traditionally by residents with a pile of branches as a danger signal.
With caution and bravery, the EOD team from Satgas Kizi conducted a thorough sweep using specialized detection equipment. Every inch of ground was carefully examined within a safe radius. Tension subsided after the final results showed no explosives or IEDs were found at the location. The Bouzum-Bocaranga route was declared safe and usable again.
The Commander of Satgas Kizi TNI Konga XXXVII-K Minusca, Letkol Czi M. Imvan Ibrahim, S.Sos., M.Han., expressed full appreciation for the spirit and professionalism of his personnel in facing the dangerous situation. "The safety of civilians and all mission personnel is our top priority.
The speed of action, procedural accuracy, and bravery in this operation reflect TNI's commitment to always be at the forefront of maintaining peace and security in the mission area," said the Commander.
With a professional, responsive, and humane attitude, TNI demonstrates that Indonesia not only participates but actively plays a role in maintaining global stability and peace. Peacekeeping missions continue to be a call of honor for TNI. (*)
